404 error for wp-admin/install.php

    Hi all,

    New to wordpress and website creation in general. Once I type in wp-admin/install.php I just get 404 page not found. Given that I’ve tried installing it about five times from scratch following online tutorials I’m not sure where I’m going wrong.

    Had a look round the forums, tried a few things but nothing has worked and am not familiar with the rest of the jargon.

    If anyone has any thoughts it would be much appreciated.

    You should contact your hosting provider and perhaps they might be able to assist you.

    I’m with hostgator but not using fantastico to install if that helps out info wise.

    Thanks Richard, I’ll try that, see if I get anywhere.
