404 error from Site Kit

    I see a lot of 404 requests to wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit/dist/assets/js/googlesitekit-sign-in-with-google-comments.js in my 404 monitor.

    I do not use the Google Sign-In feature on my site.

    hi @hakuna4matata, thanks for getting in touch and for sharing the 404 error you’re receiving. I’d be happy to help you with this further if you could share the information below:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. 
    2. Where do you see the 404 errors? For example, do you see these on the dashboard? And are they stopping any Site Kit functionality for you?
    3. does the same occur when viewing from an Incognito browser?  

    Any other information such as screenshots or recordings are also welcome and will help us to find the cause to why you’re seeing these. If you have any other questions at this time then please let me know.

    Hi there @hakuna4matata, we now have an open issue for this and the team are working on a fix. Once this has been resolved I will update this thread.

    Hi there @hakuna4matata, just to let you know that we have now released Site Kit 1.166.0 which contains a fix for this issue you were facing. Please update to the latest version of Site Kit and let us know if you encounter any further issues.
