Hi:

I’m taking over this website from another developer so I am not familiar with Foo Gallery. However, when I click on anything in the admin for Foo Gallery (Galleries, add gallery, Activation, etc. It all goes to a 4040 page with a link like this:
/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=foogallery

The galleries are working fine on the front of the site, I just can’t get anywhere to edit them. Dumped the cache, no change. No console errors.

Hi

It does not make sense that you are getting a 404 in the wp-admin. Do you get a specific error when this happens? USually 404 errors only occur on the frontend and I have never heard about them occurring in the backend

it redirects to the front end. No other error in the inspector. I’m wondering, based on the URL if there is a plugin or something missing to assign the post type?

Do you have any plugins that are doing redirects? try deactivating plugins to see if there is a conflict

Everything is off and it is still doing it. I switched themes, and switched to the twentyseventeen theme, and it still redirects to the front of the website.

Looking at that URL the plugin generates.. is there perhaps something missing to establish the post type?

Having not used the plugin before, I don’t know if that looks right. They have multiple galleries on the site using the plugin, so I really don’t want to look for a replacement.

A guess from me – but it seems there might be an issue with our licensing system causing this redirect. Can you try download this cleanup plugin : https://github.com/Freemius/freemius-fixer/archive/master.zip

Then activate and run the cleanup. Once done please try activate FooGallery again

I think we found the issue. This only happens on PHP 7.1. It works on every other version, although we did not test 7.3. All the way back to 5x, it ‘s fine 7.0 is fine, it only does it on 7.1.

I am still clueless as to why it has issues on 7.1 as we have not had this issue and have not had it reported by others. But I am glad you found it
