Hello amadhav1,
Thank you for using our plugin and sorry to hear you’re encountering problems. Quick troubleshooting question; are the actual log files being generated in the /wp-content/uploads/wp-security-audit-log/404s/ directory?
This is the location where the plugin stores the log files.
Hi,
No, in the wp-content/uploads/<site_number/wp-security-audit-log/404s/. I am using multi-site wordpress install.
This is a little wierd, but this is what is happening. I have a multi-site, and for 404 errors if it is the main website you get null. If you go to one of the sub-folder sites, then the link wprks.
Thanks,
Aaron
I’m getting the same error: Has requested a non existing page (404 Error Pages) 21 times. Download the Log file.
Very interesting. Unfortunately we cannot reproduce the problem though here is some information to help you troubleshoot the issue. In a multisite setup, the logfiles for the main website are saved in the following location:
/wp-content/uploads/wp-security-audit-log/404s/*.log
For sub sites on the network, the files are saved in the following location:
/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/wp-security-audit-log/404s/*.log
Can you please right click the broken link in the alert and check to which location it is linking? Can you please let us know as well to where it is pointing?
The links for the main site are linking to http://null, the sub sites are going correctly to /wp-content/uploads/sites/3/wp-security-audit-log/404s/*.log
I looked and the folder permissions and they are the same.
Thanks,
Aaron
Did you by any chance migrate the audit log from one website to another, or change the URL?
If you create new 404 requests to the main site, are the alerts with the new link still using the same broken link?
no I just installed the plugin a couple of days ago. And it looks like it is fixed it, I adjusted the permissions on the 404s folder. It’s working now.
Thanks,
Aaron
Thanks for updating us. It seems that the plugin failed to create the log files due to permissions then. Glad it is solved. If you keep on using our plugin please spare a minute and rate it.
Thank you and do not hesitate to get in touch in case of any further queries.
What are your permissions showing for your 404s folder after you modify them? Mine are set to:
Owner permissions Read Writ Execute are checked
Group permissions and Public permissions Read and Execute are Checked
Numeric value 755
I’m getting the error code 11 times so far this morning and 58 times the last time I worked on the site.
The error code is 6007 if that helps.
Hello Dramsey,
This ticket is not related to the Alert ID (that is not an error code) or what is generating it, but to the log files the plugin is creating. If you are encountering a problem or have some questions about the Alert ID 6007 please open your own thread.
Thank you.
