Hello there,
Thanks for your inquiry. Let’s see how we can help.
Can you confirm that the plugin works normally while not using Google Fonts?
Some of our users reported this issue with 404 errors and we were not able to track down the reason. Maybe this is the cause.
If so, we will fix it in the next update of the plugin. Can you tell us if you are using any plugins for Google Fonts or adding it via the CSS file?
Thanks.

Hey mate,
Thank you for quick reply.
This is strange.
I tried again to deactivate Google Fonts to double check and sure it would work, but it didn’t.
Then I tried to deactivate some other plugin and when I deactivated “Random Banner” it worked again… But only the first time.
Then back to 404 pages.
My tech knowledge is too limited to effectively troubleshoot, I just thought about some caching issue that makes it work the first time and then not anymore.
I deactivated Autoptimize then, but at that point clicking the “subscribe button” didn’t do anything.
Hello there,
Since we cannot replicate this issue in our local installation of WordPress, we think this might be happening because of a theme or plugin conflict.
We need to find out what is causing the conflict in order to sort out this issue.
To search for conflicts, please follow these steps.
1. First please deactivate all plugins except Optin Cat and see if the issue persists.
2. If the issue is resolved, reactivate your plugins one by one to see if the issue returns.
3. If no conflict is found among your plugins, try reverting to a default WP theme like ‘Twenty Sixteen’, or ‘Twenty Seventeen’, and see if the issue is resolved.
Head here for detailed instructions:

If you find a conflict with a plugin or theme, please let us know the name of the conflicting software and try to contact the author of the software to see if they can fix the issue.
Thanks.

Thanks guys!
It’s a plugin issue.
I admit I didn’t troubleshoot the problem deeply enough as I was afraid of deactivating all plugin ins at once, but I finally got around to do it.
I had to play around a bit but in the end I believe I find out the culprit.
It’s the growingly popular commenting plugin wpDiscuz.
For now I’m also going without Jetpack as it seemed to slow down the Opt In response, I’ll keep you updated there.
It’s a pity as wpDiscuz is really neat, but Optin Cat takes priority.
Glad this one is solved.
Hello there,
Glad you found out the issue. Thanks for informing us about it.
I will talk about to our development team and we’ll discuss if we want to fix this issue.
Please also ask the developer of the conflicting software to fix this issue if possible.
Thanks.
