    Hi

I used to have WordPress installed in the root directory but due to other reasons I deleted that site and created it again and this time installed WordPress in a directory inside the root directory.

    Old: root/WordPressInstall New: root/en/WordpressInstall
Where WordPressInstall is my website of course

I have a lot of indexed pages from root/WordPressInstall that now create 404 errors which I understand why this happens as the pages are no longer there.

Is there a way to redirect all 404 errors that are being generated from root/WordPressInstall to redirect to the new root/en/WordpressInstall homepage because all I can seem to find are plugins that will work if installed in the root/en/WordpressInstall so are only looking for root/en/WordpressInstall pages.

Can anyone recommend a plugin that will help me achieve that or should I use the htaccess to redirect the old pages to the new homepage?

Or is it best to leave the old pages appearing in search results as I have created a 404 page in root/WordPressInstall and wait for them eventually drop out of search results.

    Thanks in advance
    Ian
