404.php not loading

    I can’t ever get a 404.php file to load. Not in 2.6.2 or in 2.7(hemmorhage) either. Tried on a couple server setups, all vanilla LAMP. Not for my own theme, not for the default theme. I just get basic text-only server 404 Not Found error pages.

    Thoughts?

    oh yeah, forgot to add, it’s not working with both pretty permalinks enabled and with default permalinks

    You May check the index.php file,if there’s the 404 codes,sometimes the codes in the index.php file will load first but not the 404.php file.

    thanks, but the index.php file is not loading either. it is just spitting out a generic server 404 error.

    I am getting the 404 error message. My home page comes up but no other pages. http://www.endtimedaniels.com

    This is the message I receive:

    The requested URL /2009/end-time-daniels-messages/ was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
