410 not working?

Hi there,

First of all, i really like your plugin. But i have one problem. Iam trying to 410 some old urls and set them manually in the Redirection Section to Code 410. But nothing happens. If i open the url it shows and logs a normal 404 error. So what iam doing wrong?
