    Hi,

I tried to do a manual 410 redirect for a page but it didn’t work.

I entered the entire URL of the page I wanted to delete in Source URL field.
Query Parameters: Exact match all parameters in any order
    Match: URL Only
When Matched: Error 404 with HTTP Code 410-Gone

I proceeded to delete the said page. When I enterd that URL in my browser, isntead of getting the 410 Gone error message, I got the below:

There has been a critical error on this website.

Can you provide a URL to look at, and a screenshot of the settings for the redirect?

    Hi John,

This is the post I’m trying to delete – https://www.bingofind.com/2010/03/win-emmerdale-trip-tombola/ with a 410.

So I binned the post and the set up of the redirect is as below screenshot:

If you look at the actual link now, it doesn’t return a 410 error message.

    Thanks

That’s not the actual redirect you created.

You will need to look at your error log for the error reason. Your site is using Cloudflare and that seems to be returning a 410 when I manually check, but a 500 when I use a browser. I suspect the problem is not with Redirection, but with your Cloudflare setup.

    Hi John,

    Just to clarify.

The 410 set up is correct the way it was created or not?

If yes, due to Cloudfare, its returning 500 instead of 410?

    Thanks for making it clear.

Possibly it’s correct, but I can’t tell as it’s not the one you’ve saved.

I couldn’t say what else is happening, but you have Cloudflare, and the URL returns different status codes, so it seems a likely place to start looking.
