• Hello,

We are experiencing difficulties installing the 4.3.1 update.

Though we are used to using other FTP methods, and are the administrators and moderators of our WordPress sites, we are experiencing challenges related to this WordPress update. On occasion WP asked us for FTP login information to complete the updates, on other occasions the updates have worked and on others the updates are failing.

We believe we have enough space to accomodate the updates, we are clearing superflous files and restoring i-node availability – and have recently successfully installed and updated plugins.

Without using the FTP, and with as little coding as possible, preferably none, can you advise us, provide help or insight to enable us to install the update, preferably by our using the Update button like people would normally use?

I have included samples of the failed installations.

    “Downloading update from https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/release/wordpress-4.3.1-no-content.zip…

    Unpacking the update…

    Could not copy file.: wordpress/wp-includes/js/zxcvbn.min.js

    Installation Failed”

    and

    “Downloading update from https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/release/wordpress-4.3.1-no-content.zip…

    Unpacking the update…

    Could not copy file.: wordpress/wp-admin/options-permalink.php

    Installation Failed”

If Auto updating does not work on your server, then, try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first.
