    So I had an issue with a WordPress plugin today that made it impossible to edit the files, so I tried to use a backup restore from Updraft Plus and it killed my site! I’m getting a 500 error now and can’t even login to WordPress.

    Before I did the restore, the plugin said that it was not a restore, but actually a migration which didn’t make sense to me, and I went ahead with the restore anyway. I have recently changed from http to https, I thought the backup was after that change, but I may have been wrong.

    Now, I cannot access my site or even the Wp Admin page anymore, so I’m totally locked out.

    Please help me out if you can, this site is very important to me and my business. Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide.

    Try going into the file browser in cpanal and add old to the plugins folder. create a new empty plugins folder and try accessing your site.

    Hello Adam3k3, thank you for the reply.

    I tried changing the plugins folder and adding a new, empty folder but still no luck :/ thank you for the suggestion though, I appreciate it. I hope I will be able to figure this out very soon.

    Hi Stephen,

    Apologies for the delay.

    Please could you find the following line in your wp-config.php file, and set ‘false’ to ‘true’:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', false );

    Then, attempt to access the site. You should see a more detailed error message.
    Could you send us a copy of that message?

    The log also shows that the restoration failed when attempting to restore the uploads.
    This is usually due to the hosting account/server running out of free disk space.

    Please could you check the amount of free space available to the site?
    You will then need to restore again.
