500 error on activation

    Hi

    Wordpress version: 5.0.3
    Plugin version: 1.7.23
    PHP version: 5.4

    My client recently updgraded this plugin and the site immediately started returning a 500 error. I can’t see any information about that error in the logs.

    I renamed the plugin folder, refreshed and all good. I reverted the folder name and refreshed the plugin name in the plugins area and get a message for the plugin “***ATTENTION: After upgrade the plugin may be deactivated due to a known issue, to workaround please refresh this page and activate plugin.***”. I did that and it goes back into a 500 state.

    Any idea how this can be resolved please?
