500 internal server erro

    Hi, I am updating a very old website. I was trying to update the wp backend, and it said I needed to update the php on godaddy side. I did that, then went back to update wp, and the update failed. After failing now the backend nor the website will load. It says 500 internal server error. Can someone please help?

    There is no htaccess file visible in the folder it’s supposed to be in? Any ideas?

    Yes, you should have one in there. Do you know how to create one? If not, read this. Super easy to do. Hopefully you have FTP access to upload it to.
