    And Bluehost is basically saying
While checking further, I could notice that your website is Multisite website. I’m afraid, multisite is out of our Support scope, I would recommend you consult a WordPress developer in order to fix this. We are not exactly sure what are the changes made to the website and we try to fix the site may create other complications since we were not been on your website development process and we are not sure on what standards it is built on. Please consult a WordPress developer for a feasible solution. We being the hosting company can help you with hosting-related queries and general WordPress and website-related queries. The website development and maintenance will be the customer’s responsibility.`

Though I am sure that I don’t have a multisite, is there a way for me to find out. I have blasted Bluehost, because they were the ones I asked help from. Initially they said it was a server migration issue. But now my site’s been down for week or so.

  • Sorry to hear that Bluehost are not being helpful.

Do you have FTP access to your site? Try some of the strategies on this page to try to resolve the issue.

If you have FTP access you could try renaming the .htaccess file, or rename the wp-content directory. Renaming the wp-content directory will disable all the plugins which should at least give you access to the site so that you can troubleshoot further.

Note: ensure that you rename things rather than delete them, so that they can be changed back if necessary. Before doing anything take a backup of the files locally.

Thank you for your advice Michael. I would like to learn if there is a way to pull my posts out in case this goes south. I can never locate the folder where my posts are at. Knowing my luck it may well crash my whole system.

There’s a couple of things you can do to backup your posts.

Firstly you can take a backup of the whole database using something like phpMyAdmin which should be available from your hosts cPanel.

Secondly you can export your content from the WP Admin. Select Tools -> Export.

    For a belt-and-braces approach do both! 😅

    Thank you,
I had to fish a download from the file manager + phpMyAdmin

WP admin refused to work for me. So that approach was not available for me.

I’m not having much luck I think i will need to seek a higher power
