• I installed WordPress 2.3.3 successfully yesterday and got the first blog online. When I went to login today, I kept getting the message below:

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

I’ve reinstalled all the WordPress 2.3.3 files (overwriting), and removed all the extra plugins I wanted to install and still keep getting the error. The first post is still showing just fine online.

I don’t know where the error log is. I’m on startlogic.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The first (and only) post shows up just fine, but I can’t login to the admin section, either from the META link on the blog or through wp-admin. I keep getting the message in my first post.

    Latest update:

I just tried logging in again, from both the wp-admin page and also from the META link on the actual post, and received the same message. Left the site for a couple minutes, went back to the post online and WordPress is showing me logged in, yet won’t let me perform any administrative functions, just keeps giving me the same error as earlier.

Looks like I fixed it. Deleted all the files in the directory, reinstalled WordPress, but when I edited the wp-config.php file, I used startlogic’s file editor instead of Notepad.

I think Notepad might’ve left something “extra” in the config file that was causing the error.

Of course, I still don’t know where the error log is. 😉
