• Today I can’t login my admin dashboard,and it was ok before.I don’t know why,maybe I did some operation incorrectly,but I can’t remember what I did.
    When I login,it says:
    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

  • 500 ISE means there is a problem with the configuration on the server. Usually your hosting company tech support can help. It could be a problem with your .htaccess file.

    I would try these first:

resetting the plugins folder by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – renaming the .htaccess file or deleting it after a backup of the .htaccess file.

Thanks keesiemeijer so much,I delete the .htaccess file and it works!
Do you know why this error happened?
As I know the rewrite rule won’t work without .htaccess file and the permalink will be invalid too.
Should I re-install the wordpress to fix the problem?

You don’t have to re-install. WordPress creates a new .htaccess if it’s not there. So just go to Settings > Permalinks and re-safe your permalink structure. If WordPress cannot automatically edit the .htaccess file, it will provide manual instructions after saving.

It’s strange sometimes it produces a 500 internal server error but some time is normal to login to /wp-admin or /wp-admin/index.php while all other admin pages like /wp-admin/edit.php and /wp-admin/post-new.php is normal to access.I re-install the wordpress by the “re-install Automatically” function and the problem is still.
