Recently I switched web hosts to hostgator and I am now having very strange error messages pop up in my browser after I try to edit any post. I get a 500 Server Error message and after countless emails back and forth to customer support they finally suggested that I post in this forum.

Also when I am trying to delete a post wordpress asks if I want to delete it and when I click on yes the line of which I tried to delete highlights in red and stays that way. If I hit refresh I get the 500 Server Error message again.

Then I immediately go back into my admin panel and the post that I tried to delete is still there.

Could this be a database error of some kind? On my last host this never happened so I just have no idea what to do.

Did you update your permalinks after the switch?

Yes I updated from an IIS server to a linux server so I was able to update the permanlinks right off the bat and no problems when updating.
