Hi Espen,
Can you provide more information on the error? Are you on shared host?
Hi Haktan,
Our site is on Digital Ocean through Cloudways. It runs through Cloudflare as a CDN, and it’s Cloudflare that trows up the 502 bad gateway error.
As far as I have been able to tell it only shows up when trying to access the /wp-admin page to log in, or during the redirect after having logged out.
It shows up on urls like this after logging out: https://xxxxxxx.com/wp-login.php?action=logout&_wpnonce=8ea5d2c54e
and when trying to log in:
https://xxxxxxxxx.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fxxxxxxxxxx.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1
The Cloudflare error page is very unhelpful, and just looks like it always does. Here is an example from the web, ours looks similar. https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/206476148/Screenshot_2016-04-14_12-42-25.png
Not sure what else I can offer as far as details. Any ideas what may be causing this?
-Best Regards
Espen

Can you also try debug mode in WP, maybe we can get more meaningful errors?
How can this be marked as resolved without a solution provided ?
I experience the exact same error. Cloudflare off (dns only), cache off, tried it on both linode servers and digital ocean.
Even if it is triggered by cloudflare it’s not serious to point to their support 🙂
Did anyone figure out how to solve it ?
Hi @fbvinvest,
Did you check the link I provided above? and please try WP debug mode and see if you can get something useful to debug.
Thanks
I am having the same exact problem. I also use cloudflare and my sites are hosted by Digital Ocean. When the plugin is activated, I get the 502 error when trying to log into the WordPress admin for my site. The issue goes away when I deactivate the plugin. Haktan, I did check the link you provided, but it doesn’t provide any specific instructions to resolve the issue.
Thanks,
Joe
