When publishing a new post, the page is timing out with a 502 error. We have a hosted service and our own SMTP server. I have deactivated all plugins apart from subscribe2, WPMail and classic editor. Sending test emails also fails but sending small batches of emails works. When sending 200, only circa 130 were being delivered. Spoken with our hosted support and they advised that their Apache long process kill script is the reason behind this (60 second limit), killing the emails being sent. This has been in place for some time however and only seems to have been a recent issue, they have advised nothing has changed on their end. Upgraded to latest WP version and plugin versions and no difference. Have tested with another SMTP server and have the same issues. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

It sounds like you are falling foul of the 60 second time limit.

You could try the most current development code here:
    http://github.com/mattyrob/subscribe2

If that doesn’t work you may need to find a plugin solution that queues and sends emails in smaller batches. Or change hosting provider, or get them to increase the 60 second limit (I doubt they’ll do that though).
