Using plugin on Member site on Genesis framework on WP Engine hosting and was working beautifully until I updated to version 1.2.2. Redirection to non-member landing page resulted in 502 Gateway Errors. After I rolled back the plugin to version 1.2.1, it worked fine again. Problem with WP Engine using Nginx redirects instead of Apache or problem with Genesis?

  • I am also having this issue on wp engine with a different theme. Not sure what the solution is, but it looks like it’s definitely tied to wp engine!

I’m having the same problem… Getting a 502 Bad Gateway error when I try to visit a protected page when the Groups 404 Redirect plugin is installed and configured. I tried reaching out to WPEngine support. Waiting on their response. REALLY want to get this figured out.

Anybody else have any ideas as to why this is happening?

I heard that it’s just something that they don’t allow, unfortunately.

Switched to S2 Member which works fine on WP Engine

The cause of the 502 is a bug in some versions of PHP where a call to method_exists( $class, $method ) when the $class does effectively not exist will result in a segmentation fault. I’ve added a fix that circumvents this bug and released version 1.2.3.
