We just went live with a site and I was testing the output of the plugin for non-logged in users and noticed the commented output was still showing up and when I went back into the plugin settings I noticed the manually entered code was not saving the GA number.

We would love to see this fixed. For now we will enter the GA code in directly. Let me know if a fix is in place and we will reinstall your plugin. We have used previous versions without issue (sans a handful of sites where this has been an issue with previous versions).

    Hi there,
We’ve haven’t gotten any other reports of issue with the manual UA code not saving and we’ve been testing it quite extensively over here and it’s working for us. One thing that’s likely is if MonsterInsights detects the UA code is not of a valid format it won’t save. It could be that it’s rejecting the UA code you’re attempting to use on this basis. Could you send the UA code you’re trying to use via monsterinsights.com/contact (via presale) so we can see if that’s possibly the issue

    Thanks,
    Chris

We were using manual UA entry, it is now gone after updating to 6.0.4 from the 5.x version. Within the code it says “Normally you will find the Google Analytics tracking code here, but the webmaster disabled your user group” – this is when using Chrome Incognito to ensure I am not logged in at all. We have Admin and Editor as being blocked from tracking.

If you do not have a UA entered, it will show the disabled user group message for all users. Once you re-enter the code it will show back up for non-excluded users. Make sure you are on the latest version of MI + also clear any server (such as WPE, Pagely, SiteGround, etc) or plugin (WP Super Cache, Rocket Cache, W3 Total Cache, etc) caches as well.

We’ve identified the issue that caused the migration to fail, but unfortunately we will not be able to restore this for sites that have already completed the update.
