    Yes, this is a known change in WordPress 6.8. The “Edit Website” link now opens the Site Editor homepage instead of the specific template. This is intentional, reflecting the new navigation structure in 6.8.

    Workaround:
    Manually navigate to the desired template via Appearance > Editor > Templates, or bookmark direct template URLs.

    If you want the old behavior, consider using the “Classic Editor” or a plugin like “Admin Bar Edit Links Fix” (if available), or report feedback to WordPress Core for possible improvements.
