    Having 9.5.1 installed and active – Any page load time is 30+secs and mostly timeout. – Website All SW latest versions.

    1. Delete Stripe plugin v9.5.1 – Website works. No payment method.
    2. Install and Activate v9.4.1 – Website works.
    3. Connect to Stripe account – Website works.
    4. Upgrade and Activate Stripe plugin to v9.5.1 – Website works.
    5. Connect to Stripe account – Website is DOWN.
      * “Connect to Stripe Account” process ends up loading/waiting forever and never returns.
      * Resulting to page load timeout.

      THE WHOLE WEBSITE IS DOWN! – Page load time 30+sec! – TIMEOUT – HTTP ERROR 5XX

      DELETE STRIPE PLUGIN with FTP. – Website is UP!

      v9.5.1 is still BROKEN!

    The software quality on this plugin has dramatically dropped recently! – Not sure what happened, but the current sw quality and testing before releases is not on required professional level for the past few releases.

    This is particularly CRITICAL to eCommerce businesses, who will have immediate revenue hit when website is not responsive or payment method is having issues!

    Come on guys! – You can do better than this! @automattic @woocommerce

    Thank you for laying everything out so clearly. I can tell you’ve done a thorough job testing this, and it’s frustrating to see the site go completely down after connecting your Stripe account on 9.5.1 — especially when everything works fine with 9.4.1.

    You’re right to expect better, and I understand the concern about plugin quality lately. I completely understand how critical this is for you and I apologize for all the inconveniences this must have caused.

    To help us dig deeper and compare with similar reports, could you share your System Status Report from WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support? This will give our devs more insight into your setup and help us identify any potential conflicts that may be tied to this version.

    I know it’s a rough experience, We’re here and we’ll keep working with you until we get to the bottom of it.

    @iarovuo, we released version 9.5.2 of the plugin to prevent the API call volume issues that you’ve been seeing. Please let us know ASAP if updating to 9.5.2 doesn’t address the problem — the purpose of the release was to fix our ability to sync our set of enabled payment methods with Stripe, and specifically these repeated (and unnecessary) calls.
