_wp_attachment_metadata = 1 ? Problem finding/sizing thumbnails
-
Hi,
I tried installing resmush.it which seemed to do a good job shrinking images.
However, I later noticed that my thumbnails were not displaying on front page etc! I thought this could be a few issues, having updated to WordPress 5 and a bunch of other modules yesterday – including changing from Smush to resmush.it .
Looking at the HTML, it seems the thumbnails were being loaded but sized as width=1 height=1, seeming the images had the wrong size attributes from somewhere.
I found this article which started to point me in the right direction –
Then found ‘Table Pixie’ the newer version of ‘Meta Pixie’. Searching _wp_attachment_metadata showed all its stored values as ‘1’ as I half expected.
I then found and tried running ‘Fix Media Library’, but all the images still showed as ‘1’.
I then disabled (not uninstalled) resmush.it then re-ran Fix Media Library. To my pleasant surprise all the images got complete _wp_attachment_metadata .
For now I will leave resmush.it deactivated , but look forward to your updates.
Cheers
Alex
