A bug with permalinks?
-
Hello,
I have a problem with permalinks. I googled a lot searching for a solution but did not find anything applicable. That’s why I am placing this post here.
Assume there are pages created with WP backend (the domain name is fancy):
1. http://www.xyz.com/ebook
2. http://www.xyz.com/ebook-1
3. http://www.xyz.com/ebook-2URLs for pages 2 and 3 were created automatically to avoid duplicate URLs as user wanted to created 3 pages using ‘ebook’ as the title. Now, I sent http://www.xyz.com/ebook to the trash bin and removed it definitely subsequetly. But when I input http://www.xyz.com/ebook into browser’s address bar I get redirected to http://www.xyz.com/ebook-1. Moreover, if I removed http://www.xyz.com/ebook-1 also I would get redirected to http://www.xyz.com/ebook-2
Is it possible to avoid this behaviour? I mean I would like 404 error page displayed when I try to access http://www.xyz.com/ebook even though pages having URLs suffixed with -1 and -2 exist.
Thank you for you help.
