It will also appear in the list of calculators available in the plugin.

but is there a way i can make the price per unit have a default fixed value and is there a way i can change the dollar sign with another symbol?

We decided to move our customization options directly to our site. You can still get all the same calcs from http://www.calculatorpro.com and you can do a number of customizations there as well.
The code from our site is slightly different than the shortcode used in the plugin–but both work fine on wordpress sites. Code directly from our site will also work on other non-wordpress sites as well.
