    Hi guys,

I’m using a theme by Classipress for one of my websites, and the problem with this is that they don’t use ‘Featured Images’ on their ‘ad_listing’ custom post type.

All I’m getting is a big hunk of a grey colour.

Is there a shortcode setting where you can pull the first image contained in the post (ad_listing) into the plugin, rather than the featured image?

  • Hello,

    Thanks for reaching here…

Can you please create a new test page and add a shortcode and please share your test page link?

Which shortcode you are using please share.

    Thanks,

    Hi @patelketan

The link to the test page is HERE

…and the shortcode that I used is

    [recent_post_slider design="design-3" post_type="ad_listing" limit="5"]

As I mentioned earlier, the theme doesn’t use featured images for the ad_listings post type, and I wondered if there was a way to amend the shortcode so that it pulls in the first image of the post?

    Hello,

Please check your custom post “ad_listing” type. I think your post type does not support “featured image”.

Please check this plugin with the WordPress default post.

Please check and let me know if you anything else.

    Thanks,

    Hi @patelketan

I’ve just said (twice) that the ad_listing post type does not support featuresd images, and can the shortcode be changed to pull in the first image instead?

    Obviously it cannot then.

    Hi @deeveearr

Sorry for the confusion. “WP Responsive Recent Post Slider” plugin only works with Post Featured images.

If the post featured image is not there then it can not pull the first image from post content.

You can take a look at the below plugin. I am not sure but may it help you.
