For me, it’s always 2 of each product. For example: 2 peaches, 2 walnuts, 2 plumbs. Always 2, never 1 and always the same products even though my shop is full of other items.
Things that make you go hmmm!
The thing is, if you want to find out the email or more info about the “visitor”, you will have to upgrade. Hmmm!
Think I will have to abandon Abandon Cart Lite for good!
Maybe robots like semrush or ahrefs?
Hi @diferente,
I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you due to this.
I have forwarded this issue to our development team. They are digging in deep for this issue. We are trying to replicate this issue at our end but we need some more details from you regarding this. Please share the screenshot of the settings you have set up in our plugin.
So it would help us immensely if you can create a support ticket for this here.
Please let us know.
Regards,
Priyanka Jagtap
Hi @trobaz, @diferente,
We apologise for the inconvenience.
We have released v5.6.1 of the plugin a few hours ago. In that, we have disabled visitor tracking temporarily. So for now, the plugin will continue to track those carts that are abandoned after an email is entered on the chekcout page. That will stop any new abandoned carts without an email address from being created.
In the meantime, we shall continue to monitor this issue & fix it once we can reproduce it.

I have tried a different plugin with the same results which means that there is definitely nothing wrong with your plugin. I will try your plugin v5.6.1
Thanks
Hi @trobaz,
That’s very encouraging to know. We have for now disabled visitor cart tracking till the time we identify the reason behind this issue. Also because of festival time (Diwali) here in India, 50% of our team is on a leave spending time with their family. So we haven’t been able to devote as much time as we would like to on this issue.
Do you mind letting me know which was the plugin that you tried?

Well since the new release I am not seeing any abandoned carts. I also abandoned a cart with a fake email address and it *did* show up as abandoned. My question is you said it was a temporary change. Any chance you make the fix permanent?

Just to update: I also have Wordfence installed and I made some changes to its configurations. I am now able to see that some bots are ahref and which country they are coming from. I suggest you put your plugin back the way I was as I can see from some support entries that some users want to see their abandoned carts which they are no longer getting due to your mandatory email temporary fix.
Thanks for your prompt responses and support.
Hi @trobaz,
Thank you for the details that you’ve given about Wordfence rules.
Do you mind sharing with us more details about the bots & the country? Users do want to see the visitors abandoned carts, yes. But we are first finding more information on what is causing the bots to add those carts & how they can be prevented. Because they are skewing the abandonment & recovery statistics too.

Hi @trobaz and @diferente we had released an update last week where we are again tracking the visitor carts and some minor fixes.
We have also written a post using which you can avoid the tracking of bots currently happening on the site. Here is the link for the same.
Do let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Dhruvin
