Abnormally Large Export File Size

    I backed up my *entire* relatively new site using Updraft Plus and the backup file size is 308 MB.

    When i exported the same site using this plugin, it shows me that the backup file size is 5 GB.

    Obviously, with the upload limits of this plugin, i am not going to be able to migrate my site.

    The question is, why is this plugin bloating a 308 MB site to 5 GB? Am i doing something wrong?

    Hi abkabk,

    Thank you for reaching out.
    Our plugin migrates everything including backups created by other plugins.
    In your case, it could be that another plugin you were using excludes its own backups while our plugin includes them.

    Thanks for your quick response.

    Could you suggest a way out please? I have set the plugin to keep 5 backups. Should i delete the 5 earlier backups? Even if i do, that will reduce the file size at the most by by 1.5 GB (300 MB x 5 backups).

    The export file size will still be around 3.5 GB, which surely is not the size of my website.

    I took a *full* backup on server (Bluehost) too and the file size again is 308 MB. http://snag.gy/mMYR8.jpg
