• Hi, I’m new here. I’m not a techie. My friend in the States set me up with a host. He’s promised to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress but isn’t getting around to it. I’ve gotten as far as loading themes and beginning to post, but my About page and the Archives return error 404, Object Not Found. Also the date on my calendar seems to be stuck now. I’ve tried different themes and the same happens. My site is http://www.metajag.com. Would you be so kind as to let me know if this is a WP version problem or something else entirely? Thanks.

  • you .htaccess file still exists ?
or, server lets you use it ?

go to wp-admin – settings – permalinks – and set the default value, save changes, reload your blog. let us know if works

    sorry for delay in responding….

Amusing challenges in life – one says ‘I’m not a techie’ and this is returned. But I try. And I’m grateful for any response!

But there’s no settings folder in wp-admin, and I have no idea where to find .htaccess file. Whether it exists, that I just don’t know.

I’m passing along to my tech guy, anyway, though I guess he’s on his own journey.

The information blueyez gave you is hardly “techie”. It’s basic WP knowledge. If there isn’t a settings option in your admin section, then you aren’t logged in as an admin.
