Hi,
The filename should be: bbpress-advanced-statistics-fr_FR.mo and bbpress-advanced-statistics-fr_FR.po
Give that a shot and see if it works!
Also, if you have time – please assist us with translating our plugin for others with the wordpress translate functionality
Hi Jake!
Thank you for your answer~
Sorry, I did a mistake in my original post. I meant “bbpress-advanced-statistics-fr_FR.mo” and “bbpress-advanced-statistics-fr_FR.po”. So, even with the correct filename ( screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/9vdRCLy.png ), the plugin does not load my french translation.
I checked your ‘loadLocale()’ in the ‘class-bbpress-advanced-statistics.php’ file, and every seems ok.
Would you have any idea why it’s not loading, please ?
Thank you =)
Hi,
I will take a look into this and get back to you.
Kind Regards,
Hi Cooljojo,
This seems to be working absolutely fine on my test environment, and on some of my live websites. Just to confirm:
– You have the language enabled within the General Settings page of WordPress (/wp-admin/options-general.php)
– The file(s) are named:
bbpress-advanced-statistics-fr_FR.mo
bbpress-advanced-statistics-fr_FR.po
And finally, those files are found within a folder on your server in /wp-content/languages/bbpress-advanced-statistics/ ?
Kind Regards,
Hello Jake !
First, thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
You won’t believe it, but what happened to me was crazy. At the beginning, I started to translate only once sentence in order to test your plugin, and I chose randomly this sentence: “Welcome to our newest member”. (That mean, my .mo/po files contains only 1 sentence translated in french, and all the others one was still in english). So I checked and tested everything only with that translation. The crazy part is that, yesterday I figured out that particular sentence was not translatable for a mysterious reason…
(Screenshot as proof: HERE)
Then, I obviously started to translate the others sentences (without changing any settings you asked me to check) and the translation worked well for them.
It’s unbelievable but true. It seems there’s one sentence which does not want to be translated, and by chance, I chose this one in all my test phase… Anyways, everything is working Jake excepted this mysterious sentence but it does not matter.
Thank you very much for your help ! And if you’re interested in a french translation for your plugin, I could send it to you π
Best Regards,
Hi cooljojo,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I believe this is the way the translation programs are parsing that particular line. I have updated the plugin for this, so please download the latest version as this should resolve it
Secondly, please make sure you are editing the latest pot file provided with each plugin release, this will make sure the latest translations will be available to you.
Finally, it would be brilliant if you could provide the french translation once you are finished – I would then add that into the plugin for future releases!
Thank you for your patience and assistance!

Hello Jake!
It was natural for me, morever your plugin is very useful π
Thank you for this new version, everything is working fine ! I had all the time to test my full french translation, and it’s just perfect now.
Sure, I’d like to contribute to the translation of your excellent plugin. How do you want me to proceed to send you the po/mo files?
I’m patient by nature, you do not have to thank me, it’s me who have to thank YOU π !

Hey,
If the file(s) are complete, feel free to send them to me via email on [email protected]. I will then add them to the latest release.
Also, would you mind contributing the translations to our GlotPress page for French? You can do so here: https://translate.ww.wp.xz.cn/projects/wp-plugins/bbpress-improved-statistics-users-online/stable/fr/default
Thanks,
Hi Jake π
I had troubles working on the French (fr_FR) translation with Loco Translate and finally discovered that I had to recreate the .pot file to be able to translate.
Don’t know if on my side, the file has been corrupted at some point? But now it works. Sometimes that could be due to a missing header in the .pot file.
Would appreciate if you could throw a look at my OK file:
