I can’t seem to replicate this — my abstracts are showing. Did you change the settings on the Zotero end, e.g. making your library private? Feel free to send your API id and key so I can try to replicate your exact shortcode on my end: http://katieseaborn.com/contact
Hi Katie
Thanks for confirming is OK for you. Tried with 6.1.1 but still no joy. In addition, I have also noticed that when arranging references in just date order (even without the request for references) half the references are never listed pre 1978. The cog spins until a listing is produced to 1978 that includes one note. It then carries on working a bit longer and stops after listing the same note again but no more references. Am wondering if these things are related. Do you think it is worth seeing if another plugin is causing this. Unfortunately, I have quite a few plugins and, if so, may take a while.
Many thanks
Steve

Yes, this is very odd behaviour and I think it must be something (a plugin or otherwise) on your end. If you’d like, you can set up a temporary editor account in WP for me so I can try some testing. http://katieseaborn.com/contact
Many thanks for persevering with this one Katie

No problem! Quick note for users experiencing a similar issue — if you’ve applied the “hide p” hack to remove extra spaces, you may accidentally be hiding the abstracts and tags if shown.
Hi, I have same problem. Abstract is not showing up in Library view using shortcode abstracts=yes” and abstract=”yes”.
[zotpressLib userid=”myID” abstract=”yes” notes=”yes” cite=”yes”]
http://memomentor.com/library/
Abstract help is a bit misleading since Help system says use shortcode abstracts=”yes”, while WordPress backend insertion says abstract=”yes” with no s.
I have tried both. abstract works for single citations, but abstract and abstract set to yes does not work for library.
I have not used any “hide p” hack on my site.
Hope you can help.

Both abstract and abstracts should work, but I’m not sure that the Library shortcode supports abstracts yet. But check your Zotero account to make sure that you’re allowing the API to access your abstracts. You have to check it off there.
There is no API access for abstracts – only notes – in Zotero settings, and abstracts should work on my account (since it works for citing one citation). Abstracts is accessable via API calls per se, when you have read access to Zotero account.
I will make this a feature request. The library shortcode needs this. Would be nice if the abstract shows up in library view much the same way as “CITE”, with abstract hidden, and when users click the “ABSTRACT” link the abstracts shows.
Can you please tell me which file the library view code is in, and I can make this feature for you?

Sorry, for some reason I was thinking notes last night.
Look in the js folder for the library shortcode file. That should get you started.
