Access to REMOTE_USER Variable

We use an authentication mod for Apache using SAML, outside of WordPress. When we submit our forms, we capture the $_SERVER[‘REMOTE_USER’] variable in PHP and store that with the form data.

Is there a way to have it so that it is an option to reference that variable in the MySQL Mapping?
