I have for a long time now used the setting “Completely Block Access To XMLRPC” in the firewall. Today I removed it and set just block pingbacks to XMLRPC.

Less than 2 hours after I changed the XMLRPC attacks started rapidly with several attacks so I now changed back.

I would like some more information around this feature and the risk of attacks since it comes up a warning window when I set “Completely Block Access To XMLRPC” even if this seems to be the only way to protect my site.

How can the attacks start so soon? How can they get information to breach my sites?

This is not a bugreport, only a confirmation that the plugin really works!
Thanks All in one Security for your work and for for protecting my sites! 🙂

Hi, there is a lot of information on the Internet about Brute Force attacks via XMLRPC. You can read the following information. This article answers your question and provides more information.

At the end of the day it is up to you whether or not you decide to totally block XMLRPC.

Let me know if you need more information.

    Kind regards
