When someone registers with my WordPress website they get an email asking them to click the link for verification as is normal with just about everything else. However, when they click that link it shows up a page saying this:

    Activate Your Account

    Invalid activation key.

Please provide a valid activation key.

    Activation Key:

Now if the user tries to log in they generally can but is there any way of getting rid of this message about activation key as it scares everyone off the website and they email me all day saying there is a problem. My website is http://www.norfolkbroadsforum.co.uk. It is essential that I get this error sorted. Thanks for any help as much appreciated.
I am not 1000% sure of the WP version as I just downloaded it this week and am learning.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Seventeen.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
