Activate plugin????

    Hi there

    This is my first time to make up a blog.
    It seems to be slpw going.

    I downloaded the slider.
    Its a zip file in wp-content/plugins

    1: “Upload the plugin folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ folder of your wordpress installation” Yes I have done that. Its a zip file in wp-content/plugins

    2: “Activate the plugin”. How do I do this?

    In another place it says
    “text box – Enter the name of a Plugin zip file from your local computer.
    Browse – Click to browse your computer’s local hard drive and the select the Plugin zip file name is placed in the text box.
    Install Now – Click this button to install the Plugin from the zip file detailed in the text box; display messages similar to the following”

    Wow I’m so confused.
    How do I activate it?

    What is a text box?

    All I want to do is get the slider added to the bottom of my dashboard.

    Help please.
    I really want to make some inroads into my blog

    Hi

    to activate a plugin you select “Plugins” from the navigation of your WordPress installation. Then you select “Installed plugins” and look for your installed plugin. There you click on “Activate”. Done

    From the same page you can also add a new plugin. To do this click on “Add new” on top of the page (just next to the title “Plugins”).

    Another way to install a plugin is to select “Plugins” from the WP navigation, then select “Add new”.
