Hi, Yoast Team, I used your fantastic pluging for a while.

I am currently experiencing a critical issue on my WordPress website related to Yoast SEO. The problem is preventing me from creating new posts, and I’m seeking your assistance to resolve it promptly.

Description of the Problem: When attempting to create a new post in the WordPress admin dashboard (/wp-admin/post-new.php), I encounter the error message “The page was not found.” This issue persists despite various troubleshooting steps, including checking the .htaccess file, deactivating plugins, and inspecting server logs.

    Steps Taken:

    1. Verified the correctness of the URL for creating a new post: /wp-admin/post-new.php.
    2. Checked and adjusted the .htaccess file for potential issues.
    3. Temporarily disabled plugins, including Yoast SEO, to isolate the problem.
    4. Verified server logs for any error messages or relevant information.

The issue persists, as long as the plugin is activated and I would greatly appreciate your expertise in identifying and resolving the root cause. If there are specific configurations or settings within Yoast SEO that could contribute to this problem, please guide me in adjusting them accordingly.

    WP version: 6.4.2

    Yoast version: 21.8

But could have been lasted longer already, undetected.

I’m sorry you couldn’t create new WordPress posts when Yoast SEO is active, @claraquin. It’s unclear what the problem could be and our plugin requirements are listed here.

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.
