    Hi,

This is minor, but I’m noticing, depending on the active theme, the font used by the wordpress editor changes. And changes inconsistently.

My thinking was that this is a feature that helps give you an idea of font that’ll be used on the front end of the site. But when I switch between front and back end of the post, again depending on the active theme, these two fonts are inconsistent.

So is this an oversight of the theme dev? Is wordpress editor supposed to have it’s very own font used, independent of the active theme?

    Thanks!

    Hello jtbuzz,

your thinking is correct. If your active theme does not change the default typeface for the WordPress editor, then the typeface you should see it Georgia.

When you activate a theme, that theme might load a different typeface in the editor.

The implementation varies by theme. In some cases, the typeface you see in the editor will match the typeface in your front-end, in other cases, they choose to use the default typeface used by WordPress.

    Hi implenton,

Thanks for the clarification! So this is an explicit choice by the theme dev.. I wasn’t sure if their theme code just accidentally “bled” into backend, overwriting WP’s default Georgia…

    Thanks

    Hello jtbuzz,

indeed. It is a choice by the theme developer(s). Of course, the editor’s typeface might be altered by a plugin as well.

    Glad I could help.
