Many entries in the activity log are displaying the wrong user.
WordPress 5.9; WP Activity Log version 4.3.6.

Update: I also have the SiteGround Security plugin enabled, and its Activity Log is displaying some of the same “wrong” users.

I’ll disable the latter and see what’s up.

Meanwhile, do you have any thoughts about this?

    Hello @jdcohan

Thank you for using our plugin.

I am sorry to read about your issue. The plugin reports the user who is doing the change(s) by checking the cookie session details associated with the request initiating that change. The fact that another plugin has the same issue actually means that the issue seems to not be plugin related, but something else might be creating this “issue”.

So I would look in other places for the source of the problems. Some questions to help you troubleshoot the issue:

    1) Do you have any plugins that allow you / other users to login and / or emulate other users?
    2) Do you have some session management plugins?
    3) What about your setup? Do you have a “normal” website hosting or do you have things such as load balancers etc?

The more information you can share the better we can understand the setup and hopefully identify what is causing the issue.

Please do not share any sensitive details on this forum. If you need to share sensitive information about your setup etc, please contact us directly by sending us an email at support at wpwhitesecurity dot com.

Looking forward to hearing from you and to solving this issue.
