I have created a trial site to test out the plugin (trywpem.com/sjohnso3/). I created an event and while logged in made a booking using the customer facing event page. Then I went behind the scenes and tried to add a booking manually for a new user. Though I entered in a new name, and a new email address, I got an error message that read “You already have booked a seat at this event.”

It seems from the documentation that what I did should be quite possible. That is, an admin manually registering people for an event on their behalf. But I keep getting that error.

    What am I doing wrong?

It looks like manual booking is a “Pro” feature: https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/

I use the “User Switching” plugin so I can switch to another user and register on their behalf.

Yes, it is a pro feature and I am trying to do it with a Pro 7-day trial/demo site. Switching to another user isn’t quite what I want to do, either, as the whole point is I’m trying to manually register somebody who does not have an account and for whom I don’t necessarily want to create an account. We have lots of older customers who might call and want to register for an event (and then pay at the door).

I don’t have the pro version so I can’t answer your question. Did you try asking the question in the Pro Support forum?
