Add javascript to an entry

I’m trying t add a piece of javascript code in one of my entries but the code is interpreted by wordpress so it doesn’t have the effect I want.
I.E.
adding <script>alert(‘hello’)</script>

will enclose it into paragraph and also will convert ‘ to html code…

i’m using WP 2.02

Any ideas?
