Add onclick function to WP toolbar menu

    Hi,
    I have added a drop-down menu to my admin toolbar.

    All of the examples I see are about adding a link to another page, very basic.

    However I would like to add an onclick function.
    under Meta array we are supposed to be able to add html (not too hard) and onclick => ”.

    I cannot get this to work, and I have not seen any good examples of a working onclick function that I could learn from.

    Can anyone help me?
