As for reCaptcha, will add that on the to do list, but the list is a bit large so I can’t say for sure when it will be implemented.

Another vote for recaptcha, or integration with Akismet if that isn’t already a thing. Suddenly bots have found my form and spam is increasing. Maybe it could be a premium feature at a small cost if that would move it up the list…

We’re moving it up to the list since it was requested by several users.
It’s a bit hard to estimate when an update will be released since we have over 30 plugins/themes so the to do lists and priorities shift a lot.
But should be sometime next week.
Thanks, @wpkube. I did just add a separate plugin that covers the comment form, so it might prevent the STCR spam (I was already using Akismet but it’s not catching them). We’ll see.
I think it would also help to make the purpose of the ‘Enable challenge question’ clearer :-).
The help text says ‘The question shown to visitor when subscribing.’ – I thought that meant the challenge question would appear on the post comment form which I didn’t want so have been ignoring this option.
The challenge question actually appears only on the management page, which is great, because setting a good question here kills all the bot spam we’ve been getting 🙂
