Hi there @hebhansen,
The “subscribe in comments” checkbox can’t really be placed anywhere you like on the site. It is tied specifically to the blog post comment box.
You can, however, add a simple checkbox to subscribe to a few other places:
- you can add it to the new WordPress user sign-up form -> this is an option under MailPoet > Settings > Basics, “Subscribe in registration form”
- if you are using WooCommerce, you can add a checkbox like this to the checkout page -> this an option under MailPoet > Settings > WooCommerce, “Opt-in on checkout”
If your goal is to add a checkbox like this to other types of forms, say an information gathering form, then some third party form plugins do have integrations with MailPoet that will allow you to sign them up for your mailing list while filling out the form. You can find a list of third party form plugins that have integrations here:
https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/198-forms-themes-plugins-that-work-with-mailpoet
Otherwise, if you wish to allow people to sign up elsewhere on your site – say, in the footer of pages or on your home page – this should be accomplished via a sign-up form:

Hi @lynnjat7
Thank you for this information. It’s very helpfull.
Still I assume the check at comments is some kind of snippet doing this. I assume it auto grabs the inserted email of 1) the one inserted by guests 2) the one assigned to a loged in user… So if I can have access to this snippet I can try to redesign for my purposes.
If not, a change request is to make such a function to insert checkbox by shortcode or even better as a block. Point is this is a very subtle and discrete way to provide this opportunity to whom it may concern…. So please pass this to the team.
Thx
Hi again @hebhansen,
Thanks for reaching out, but I am afraid the opt-in checkbox isn’t quite accessible as a shortcode or via a snippet for enhancements at this time.
If you would like to add this as a feature to MailPoet, our feature requests board is here:
https://feedback.mailpoet.com/feature-requests
I didn’t see an existing request of this nature so you could create a new one. This lets our development team know that this is a requested feature, and it allows other community members to “upvote” this issue by leaving additional comments if they also would find it helpful. This helps our development team identify priorities and direct their future development.
I am asked to register with canny to do so……. A bit much to add a change request
Hi @hebhansen,
I’ll go ahead and close out this thread for now, but please do monitor the request for additional customer input, and release notes for updates on this issue.
In the meantime, happy mailing!
that perfect. Thx everyone
