Added IP’s By Hackers

    Today I found someone added about 5 new Whitelisted IP’s next to mine in WP Options (Free Version). I don’t see how they can do this.
    The IPs’ all seem to come from the USA -RackSpace servers, traced to San Antonio, Texas and Chicago. I removed IP’s, changed password to WP, but don’t feel safe anymore. How did they do this and how can I protect myself.
    I guess the site is hacked again because they got in and god knows what they injected/added malware to my site again.

    I recommend you carefully follow this guide.

    When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    I have implemented all of the free version options, firewall, scans are done frequently as I can see. I physically monitor this site several times a day if not more.
    This file was some how tampered:

    wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php

    Question was: how would they have introduced it to the servers?
    and how they introduced more IP’s to my whitelist of my own IP address.

    I also have in use another plugin which hardens WP
    which is Shield WordPress Security plugin.
    Thanks for any help from administrators of Wordfence.
