Adding a few custom fields to regular post type

    I installed the latest version of WordPress for a new site, and I don’t see the custom fields option anywhere, even with the classical editor.
    How can I make it appear? I don’t use any custom posts plugins.

    I just want to add 3 custom fields to the regular post type, nothing fancy.

    I haven’t been able to find a tutorial that explains to do this in WordPress 5. If I can’t use the Gutenberg editor then that’s fine also.

    Just wanted to add that I do see the custom fields option in the Pages ‘screen options’, but not in the Posts ‘screen options’, which is what I need.
