Is there a way to add a widget area to the footer area of this theme?

Thanks so much for using Gambit.

The theme does not include footer widgets but we have a Pro Version available with a widgetized footer area. You can learn more about Gambit Pro on https://themezee.com/addons/gambit-pro/
