    Hello,

I need to add a language which seems to be not yet fully available and translated.

As I only need to be able to edit the texts of content and not the menus, how can I cheat the settings and install it with EN menus in order to get the new window appear for posts and pages in editor – as well as the widget with language selector in corresponding language?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

My best offer is to wait for the next release of the plugin.

Indeed, we will implement an option which allows removing the language prefix displayed when content is not available for the selected language. So, if english is your default language and you have unchecked “Hide Content which is not available for the selected language”, you should see the english texts displayed everywhere your new language is not translated yet.

This new version will be released before the end of next week.

    Hi, thanks for this.

But i’m not sure we well understand each other: my question was not specifically related to not available content in front end. I mean this is another problem and what you say for next version sounds great as it will address the main part of the problem.

But my question was rather how to install a language that is not available – or partly available? How will I be able to create the language sections in editor and front end for that language if I’m not able to install that language?

Sorry, I’m a bit lost here and this is the first I use this plugin.

Ok, I think I better understand your issue.
If you want to install a new language (ie one that is not available through the official WP localization repository) in order to translate backend menus and forms and frontend sentences in themes, you will have to add, create or complete a .po file and generate the corresponding .mo file, then put it in your wp-content/languages directory.

This is not directly related to mqTranslate. Without this .mo file, all core WordPress sentences will remain in english. Themes can provide their own .po/.mo files but you have to see it on case-by-case basis.

Thanks for this but, again, I’m not sure we are on the same wave length…

I understand about adding .mo files and having some of WP core files translated and others not.

But still my question is not this one!
I just don’t know how to add this language in mqTranslate in order to obtain the corresponding editor screens for that language!

You see what I mean? Let’s say I add the .mo files.
Now what’s next? How I add that language in the plugin?

Every time I try to add this language I get this message:

The Language must have a Not-Available Message!

I really don’t know how to deal with that…

You have to fill I’m all fields in the form, including the one called “not available message”

Yep, that’s right, that error message was not very clear.
    Thank you very much!
