Adding a redirect causes an error
-
Following the redesign of an old HTML site to a WordPress version, I’m trying to set up redirects to the new pages.
But when I add an initial URL
(http://www.multivideo.ch/contact.html)
and the corresponding new page (https://multivideo.ch/contacter-multi-video/)
and I click on ‘Add this redirection!’, a red box appears with this message:
An error has occurred, please try again
Are HTML URLs not supported? The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello @gmsdigital ,
Our plugin doesn’t have the exact error ‘An error has occurred, please try again’- can you replicate the issue and attach screenshot as we have a similar one: ‘Something went wrong, please try again’.
This error only appears when the plugin can’t insert the redirection data into the database.
Is it the case with all with other redirects you try to add?Our plugin supports .html links, and as you can test this on TasteWP
I see that the redirection is now working correctly from http://www.multivideo.ch/contact.html to https://multivideo.ch/contacter-multi-video/ – I guess you have resolved the issue in the meantime?
Kind regards
Hello MixHa,
That’s right, I translated the message from French.

See if this can help you.Can the XMLRPC or REST blocks in the All-in-One Security plugin block redirects?
As the launch of the site has been postponed several times, I had to find a solution quickly for these redirection issues from the answers provided by Google. I’ve implemented Redirection by John Godley.
Best regards,
BenHey @gmsdigital ,
For future debugging, we would propose to disable that security plugin. Happy to assist if you need help again.
Kind regards
