adding a widgitized footer: Issues

Hello All,

I am new to WordPress so please be gentle.

I am having trouble creating a widgitized footer within the ‘Enterprise’ theme by ‘templatesquare’.
I have searched for quite a while tring to find something that would help me eg. http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/how-to-add-widgets-to-wordpress-themes-footer-1033 & http://www.sueblimely.com/add-widget-ready-sidebars-to-wordpress-footers/

They both say that within the functions.php file I should find the following line
if ( function_exists(‘register_sidebar’) )

This line however I am unable to find in any of the .php files for this theme.

Am I not doing something I should be?
